Travel 1.2 miles from Bacup centre ascending all the time, passing The Crown pub on the righthand side, then the Flowers pub on the righthand side.
In Sharneyford the school is on the lefthand side then a small row of terraces, the lane to Parrock Lumb Cottages is on the left between 2 stone houses and there is a cattle grid at its start.
Follow the concrete lane to the back where the three cottages and courtyard come into view. you have then arrived at "Parrock Lumb Cottages".
